#132 - The Woods

I'm a bit late getting this blog post up due to a crazy week last week, rounded out with a crazy weekend.  The Little Lady had her birthday party Saturday and prepping, attending, and recovering pretty much sucked every bit of energy I had.  Was an amazing party though and I can't wait to share the photos on future layouts!

Anywhoooo...here's my take on the latest reveal over at CSI.  I had such fun putting this together and was super stoked to be able to incorporate so many photos, using tiny wooden frames that I had previously never found a use for. CLICK HERE to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this case file.  Some awesome inspiration this week!

And here's the case file.
I worked in a good amount of the evidence for this case, incorporating trees, leaves and branches (within the photos), string, labels, pouring something (paint used to color the white frames), and a little bird next to the Little Lady's foot.
For my testimony, I chose to handwrite some of my journaling up the side of the string to the left, and to scatter the rest, below each of the photos.  The cool part of the journaling below the photos is that it describes when and where we saw the various creatures, all which were spotted at the Woods where my daughter attends nature camp.  We often go on the weekends to hike and catch salamanders and crayfish, and you never know what you're going to see, which is nice because it's impossible to ever get bored of the woods!

Here are a couple of different views of the page.

So there you have it.  I loved this case file and hope that you will too.  Remember, you have until Sunday, August 3rd, to get your layout in.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

xoxo,

Shawna

  2. OMG how cute is that little girl of yours in her big t...Love the little bits with the typing throughout. Such a cool layout. I haven't played along in a while. It was the only DT I stayed on. Just taking a break and when I see layouts from the case files. I miss it.
