Sketchabilities #114

Loving this new sketch from Sketchabilities...I'm really trying to get more than one photo onto my pages lately (I've got a whole lotta photos to scrap!) so it was nice to squeeze 3 onto one page for a change!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it.  CLICK HERE to see what the rest of the Design Team came up with and get inspired to create your own take on the sketch!

I love these winter photos of our little diva at the park.  When she's in front of the camera, she owns it, that's for sure.  On this day, Ashley Jansson Photography wanted to try out a new lens and Miss Ireland was happy to be her muse, despite the frigid temps.  The whole shoot took less than 15 minutes.  When you're as cute as this kid, there's not much need for re-takes.  I'm modest when it comes to my daughter, really I am.  hehehe :)  CLICK HERE to see more of Ashley's awesome photography.

Here are some close-ups.  I was so happy to finally be able to use the silver Heidi Swapp stickers I've had in my stash for awhile now.  I never could quite find the right layout for them.

I fussy cut these cute little birds from Teresa Collins cardstock and love their little crowns!

The butterfly was stamped onto vellum, fussy cut, and covered with Mod Podge liquid magic.  You can also see here in the 2nd photo the glass bead medium that I added over the modeling paste to give it some shimmer.  I am loving that stuff!

Here's another butterfly that I adhered to a flat round plastic circle and then covered with the Mod Podge stuff again.  I love how it can turn flat paper images into pretty dimensional embellies!

Couple of tags that I inked (and covered one with Teresa Collins paper), adding a jeweled button to the other one.

So there you have it!  I hope that you will come over to Sketchabilties and give this sketch a try.  Be sure to link up your creations! Enjoy the rest of your day!

My favorite snow star

I'm on a scrappy streak lately!  Loving winter vacation where I can stay in my jammies and just play. :)  This layout is for Scrapfriends' December sketch challenge and I will readily admit, I got a little carried away and this page MIGHT be slightly gaudy LOL...I had this page of woodgrain paper with some modeling paste on it leftover from a page gone bad awhile back and for some reason I didn't throw it away.  Worked out to simulate the snow on this page.  I added some blue gelatos and let them drip to the left, and pulled out the modeling paste again for some little circle dots and to make the snowman.  (These photos were taken of my little one making a snowman earlier this winter.)  I couldn't find a good spot to put my journaling so I will likely add it to the back of the page to tell the story of her silly faces.  You see, Frosty the Snowman came to life when the top hat was put on his head and the first thing he said was "Happy Birthday!"  This is my daughter's replay of that scene, so gaudy or not I love this page. :)

Here's the awesome (and challenging!) sketch from Scrap Friends.

I love your visits and comments so thank you for having a look!  Have a wonderful Sunday!

annual xmas tree hunt :)

This month's Citrus Twist kit has THE best papers.  I couldn't wait to dig into the goodies but with the holidays upon us, today has been the first day I had some time.  So so happy with the goofy vibe of this layout.  Every year we go to cut our Christmas tree, and this year my good friend Heather came along and took some photos for us.  This one catches the essence of our silly family perfectly and I love it so much. :)

On another note, in case you haven't heard, Sketchabilities is having a design team call through January 10th!  CLICK HERE for details on how to apply.  I used sketchabilities sketch #105 as the foundation of this page.  I'm new to the Sketchabilities blog and looking through the sketches, I am very impressed with what I see.  Endless scrappy inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!  Your visits and feedback are much appreciated!
